Job Summary

UM-Dearborn, College of Arts, Sciences and Letters invites applications for the position of a part-time Lecturer in the Criminology, Law, and Criminal Justice Program for Winter 2025 to teach Intersections of Immigration and Criminal Justice, a 4 credit-hour course. The appointment will be effective January 1, 2025 through April 30, 2025. Contractual full-time rate per term is $25,500; term salary is dependent on number of courses taught and course effort percentage up to 100% appointment. The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching both in person, hybrid, and asynchronous/online modalities for the following Criminal Justice course:

CRJ 415/515: Restorative Justice, a 4 credit-hour course at 33.33% effort

This course explores the practice of restorative justice as it has been engaged in historical and contemporary criminal justice contexts. Topics addressed include the principles and philosophies underlying restorative justice, differences between retributive and restorative models, victim-offender dialogue, and offender reintegration. Students will be asked to think critically about restorative and retributive systems and to apply these concepts to develop their own approach to restorative justice. Students cannot receive credit for both CRJ 415 and CRJ 515.

Based on performance and enrollment, Lecturer may be appointment for the Fall 2025 term.

JD, master's degree, or PhD in criminology, criminal justice, sociology, or a related field
