A postdoc position is available to study the mechanisms of normal and abnormal blood clotting, particularly focusing on understanding of the biochemistry of von Willebrand factor cleaving metalloprotease, namely ADAMTS13; in addition, the potential candidate will have opportunity to study the pathogenesis of a fatal blood clotting disorder, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. Highly motivated individuals with a background in biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology, particularly in area of autoimmunity, hemostasis/thrombosis, and platelet biology are encouraged to apply.  Required skills include protein expression and purification in prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems, molecular cloning, electrophoresis, confocal microscopic imaging, and ability to handle small animal such as rodents. Competitive salary and benefit package is available.
