Position Summary and Key Responsibilities
The laboratory of Javier Gordon Ogembo, Ph.D.at The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow.
Our laboratory invites highly motivated candidates to apply for an interdisciplinary postdoctoral fellow position. Our laboratory focuses on oncogenic herpesviruses, in particular Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), Kaposi-sarcoma associated herpesvirus (KSHV), and the rhesus macaque EBV homologue rhesus lymphocryptovirus (rhLCV), and on developing prophylactic and therapeutic strategies against primary infection with these viruses and their associated cancers.
The postdoctoral fellow will work on projects with the overarching goal of designing and testing gamma herpesvirus vaccine candidates and immuno-therapeutics in various preclinical animal models.
The postdoctoral fellow will be leading projects that are in collaborations between the City of Hope Cancer Center and other institutions within and outside the USA. Importantly, City of Hope has good laboratory practice (GLP) and Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) FDA-approved biologic facilities (https://www.cityofhope.org/research/biological-and-cellular-gmp-manufacturing-facility/cbg---center-for-biomedicine-and-genetics ) to produce the candidate vaccines and immunotherapeutics in house and test them in preclinical animal models and in Phase I clinical trials.
