Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases; plans, designs and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the assigned research lab; collects and analyzes data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and Institutions; identifies and selects problems to be studied; develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; attends research seminars; contributes to manuscript preparation and supports technical writing; participates in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Required
Doctorate (Professional) or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in molecular, cellular, & dev bio or microbiology
Doctoral degree required in molecular cell biology, parasitology or microbial pathogenesis/signal transduction or a related area of study; minimum of 3 years of experience working in a research laboratory required; ability to work independently required; computer skills required with experience and knowledge of Microsoft Software application and statistical analysis software highly desired; excellent written and oral communication skills desired; supervisory skills desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
