JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State's Department of Entomology is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar. The candidate will be responsible for publishing of new peer-reviewed scholarly journals, and presentations at local and national meetings, including the new annual Penn State Post Doctoral Research Exhibition. The Postdoctoral Scholar will be responsible for maintaining professional communications with other research groups working with the lab on the use of solitary bees as alternative pollinators to honey bee, pesticide toxicity to wild pollinators and the honey bee, the ecotoxicology of insecticides used to control the invasive Spotted Lanternfly, field trials evaluating apple pest control and biological control conservation with various registered and unregistered insecticides and work with plant pathologist to further evaluate the safety of apple fungicides to bees. Coordinate lab meetings and provide opportunity to participate in grant proposals that align with ongoing research activities.

Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in an appropriate field and be able to provide evidence that all requirements have been met for completion of the Ph.D. prior to the effective date of hire. This position will be located at Penn State's Fruit Research and Extension Center (FREC), 290 University Drive Biglerville, PA 17307.
