Position Summary

Victoria College is hiring for a full-time, benefits eligible, nine-month, tenure-track History Instructor position available August 2025. We are looking for an engaging team player comfortable with  traditional, interactive television, and online/hybrid assignments.  Class size is usually limited to 25 students. A successful candidate will compassionately commit to rigor and retention through campus partnerships at the departmental, divisional, and institutional levels. Committee work and other duties will be assigned by the department chair or dean. Teaching assignment may include evening classes.

Starting earned monthly salary for the nine-month position is $5,346.11. The earned annual salary is paid out over 12 months.

Duties & Responsibilities

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Regular faculty members help students achieve learning outcomes by teaching assigned classes in accordance with established guidelines and policies and participating in advising and committee assignments, other academic and institutional support activities, and supervisory responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • A Master's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in History. Will consider May 2025 graduates.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence. Excellent work ethic.
Preferred
  • Qualifications to teach in additional disciplines.
  • Experience forming  community  partnerships.
  • Experience in assessment of student learning outcomes.
  • Experience teaching students from a wide spectrum of ages and from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, including high school students enrolled in dual-credit classes.
