POSITION TITLE: Postdoctoral Associate
POSITION SUMMARY:
Scripps Research is seeking a qualified candidate for a Postdoctoral Associate (computational) position in Dr. Pietro Paolo Sanna's laboratory. Candidates should have outstanding scientific credentials, including publications in journals relevant to the field of systems biology, and conference presentations. Candidates possessing a strong background in computer science, machine learning, physics, mathematics combined with a good understanding of genomics and molecular biology will be preferred. The optimal candidate will have significant experience and publications in network-based biology, including the reverse engineering and/or use of regulatory/signaling networks to elucidate the molecular determinants of specific cellular phenotypes and associated mechanisms for follow-up experimental validation.
Postdoctoral Associates are appointed positions for the purpose of developing scholarly competence, working under the supervision of a Scripps Research Faculty member. These appointments are normally not renewed beyond a total of five years. Postdoctoral Associates cannot apply for external funding either as a Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator without prior approval from a Departmental Chair. Postdoctoral Associates do not have consulting privileges.

REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a doctoral degree. A pending doctoral degree may be considered with approval of the Principal Investigator.
COMPENSATION: Postdoctoral Associates will be hired following the National Institute of Health and California's exempt salary guidelines, which provide for a starting range of $68,000 - $73,230. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
