JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Altoona invites applications for a part-time adjunct instructor position in Earth and Mineral Sciences beginning in Fall 2021.


Job Duties

  • Teaching responsibilities will be one section of GEOSC 1 (Physical Geology) meeting on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12:20 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. for lecture and Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 9:55 a.m. for laboratory.
  • The course serves an introduction to the study of Earth processes and their effects on the materials, structure, and morphology of Earth’s surface.
  • Weekly laboratories should emphasis terrain analysis, Earth’s materials (rocks and minerals) and geologic hazards.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • The preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Geology/Geoscience or a related field; doctoral students who are ABD may be considered.
  • Applicants are to upload a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and contact information for three professional references.
