Position Summary

The Reilly Lab in the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University is taking applications for a postdoctoral research position. The position offers an opportunity to develop novel bioanalytical methods and apply them to the study of protein folding and the interaction of ubiquitin with proteasomes with the goal of identifying new receptors. The successful applicant will perform cross-linking, liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry experiments and will interpret data with in-house and publically available computer programs. Experience gained will be beneficial for careers in both academia and industry. Trainees will receive regular guidance that will facilitate research progress and career planning. A background in analytical chemistry, biomolecule mass spectrometry or biochemistry would be advantageous.

Basic Qualifications

Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline for the Postdoctoral position.

Experience in any of the following areas would be helpful: organic synthesis, handling of biological molecules, mass spectrometry, computer-based data interpretation.

Salary and Rank $40,400-$45,000/yr. for Postdoctoral Fellow
Special Instructions

The initial appointment for this position will be for 12 months. Additional 12-month extension will be available based on performance and/or availability of funds. A competitive salary along with a benefits package will be offered.
