This postdoctoral position involves research on pitch and carbon fiber with an emphasis on rheology.
Conduct experiments to evaluate rheology of industrial samples from project sponsor.
Construct and design novel melt-spinning apparatus to generate carbon fiber.
Prepare and submit manuscripts to appropriate journals in the field.
Prepare technical reports for internal uses as well as for submission to funding agency.
Help manage and advise graduate and undergraduate students.
Take an active role in laboratory safety and managing laboratory spaces/equipment.
Interact professionally with all members of the research group.
- A PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields is required.
- 1 year experiences.
- Candidates should also have a strong background in synthesis, rheology, or fluid mechanics.
