POSITION: Assistant Professor of Communications (Full-Time, Tenure Track)
REPORTS TO: Dean, Turock School of Arts and Sciences/Program Coordinator Communication Arts
The Turock School of Arts and Sciences at Keystone College invites applications for a full time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Communications to begin fall of 2021.
A PhD from a regionally or nationally accredited program is required. A demonstrable ability to teach undergraduate courses in Communications for majors and non-majors is required. This includes at least some of the following: Interpersonal Communication, Mass Communication, Professional Speech, Small Group Communication, Communication Research, Communication Ethics, Leadership Communication, and Gender and Communication. It is also highly desirable to be able to teach courses in Digital Media. The faculty member will participate in the development of courses in the Communication Arts program, perhaps including a Master’s degree. Experience with online teaching and learning is beneficial and bilingualism would be an asset. Keystone College actively seeks to increase the diversity of its faculty.
The successful candidate will exhibit a willingness to mentor Capstone projects and should have a research/scholarship program that can involve undergraduates. All full time faculty at Keystone College serve as academic advisors and on College committees. The normal teaching load is 12 credits per semester. Scholarship, service to the College and community, a strong commitment to teaching, advising, and mentorship of students is expected of all candidates. The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be self-motivated.
Keystone College is a private, co-educational college where emphasis is on undergraduate education, and importance is placed on faculty-mentored culminating senior projects. The Turock School of Arts and Sciences strives to maintain a personalized, student-centered approach to teaching. The Communication Arts program prepares students for careers or for graduate education.
