Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics; conduct cell culture experiments and animal studies, designs and develops novel computational tools for biomedical data analysis; performs large-scale analysis using omics data; assists in identifying new biomedical data analysis technology and trends; participates as a team member with lab staff, collaborative researchers, and students and to interpret data and discuss project progress; collaborates with other researchers in determining research priorities and planning programs of research; performs relevant published literature searches; assists with writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain extramural funding agencies; writes and prepares research manuscripts, articles, abstracts, and project reports; presents ongoing work and findings at local, national, and international conferences.

Ph.D. degree in one of the following areas: Biology, Pharmacology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, or other disciplines with strong quantitative background.

Experience in cell culture and animal studies are required.
It is desired to know at least one programming language, such as R or Python. Knowledge in genomics, genetics, or proteomics is desired but not required.
Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
