Postdoctoral Position in Neurotoxicology in the Laboratory of Dr. Jennifer Freeman at Purdue University

The laboratory of Dr. Jennifer Freeman in the School of Health Sciences at Purdue University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join their team. The specific position is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to identify toxicity mechanisms of persistent and/or latent neurotoxicity in the context of environmental exposures and neurodegenerative disease, specifically related to PFAS exposures and/or other environmental chemical exposures in rural populations. Expertise in molecular neurotoxicology and the zebrafish model system including genome editing using CRISPR and in creating transgenic/mutant zebrafish is preferred. The researcher will join a productive group of multidisciplinary PFAS researchers that span toxicology, chemistry, ecology, epidemiology, social sciences, and engineering (https://research.purdue.edu/isf/research/pfas.php).

Education

Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. in toxicology, neuroscience, or a related discipline. The applicant should have documented experience in molecular biology, histology, and/or neurobehavior. Experience with the zebrafish model system including genome editing using CRISPR is preferred. The applicant is expected to have outstanding verbal and written communication skills with experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
