BASIC FUNCTION:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist researchers in the Applied Fluids and Thermal Engineering Laboratory (@FTERLab) in conducting research and meeting deliverables on a variety of ongoing research projects in aerodynamics and thermal management. The position reports to the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Sonya T. Smith.
 
SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY:
Involves responsibility for the direction of graduate and undergraduate student research assistants.
 
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Internal contacts are with the Principal Investigator, physicians, laboratory staff, and a variety of staff, faculty, and students. External contacts are with staff of the granting agency.
 
PRINICIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Assists the principal investigator in conducting a wide variety of research procedures.
  • Provides education about the research study and procedures.
  • Performs data entry in the computer, maintains clear and accurate participant records.
  • Assists in preparing progress reports, presentations, and meetings as required by the project.
  • Ensures data security.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or related field. U.S. Citizenship required.
