The position focuses on optical fiber glass development. This position will also provide hands-on experience, mentoring, and training of new graduate and undergraduate students as well as develop new ideas for future funding opportunities. The candidate will get opportunities to interact with various materials science experimental groups, contribute to proposals writing, and mentor students thereby adding to their overall professional development.

The position requires a PhD in MSE or related field with a strong background demonstrated by research publications. Good writing and oral communication skills are required. The initial appointment is for one year with a possibility of renewal for additional 1-2 years based on performance and funding availability.
