Position Summary:

The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department has an immediate opening for a research fellow to participate in exciting projects focusing on stormwater green infrastructure, as well as performing research. The research is sponsored through external research grants and the Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems (VCRWS). The initial offer is for 12 months starting immediately and future continuation is contingent upon performance and availability of funding.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Fellow will aid in research activities related to the Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems (VCRWS) research. The individual will be responsible for project execution and management. Duties will encompass field instrumentation setup and maintenance and mathematical modeling. They will oversee data analysis, and present research findings in written reports and oral presentations to funder, project partners, and the scientific and broader community. They will also prepare manuscripts for submission to referred journals using existing and new data sets. The fellow will pursue additional research funding and write proposals. All candidates must be willing to work closely with center faculty as well as with undergraduate and graduate students.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ideal candidates should have laboratory and field experience, as well as a basic knowledge of hydraulic modeling and data analysis software and languages.

A PhD degree in civil engineering or related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with analytical problem solving, creative process design, as well as good oral and written communication skills are preferred. Previous work experience is preferred.
