Summary of Position

We are seeking an outstanding engineer or scientist with a doctorate in aerospace engineering, astrodynamics, remote sensing, or a closely related field. The person selected for this position will become an integral team member of the recently awarded NASA Geostationary Littoral Imaging and Monitoring Radiometer Mission (GLIMR). GLIMR is a hyperspectral geostationary ocean color instrument expected to launch in the 2026-time frame.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications

•Ph.D. in aerospace engineering, remote sensing, astrodynamics, or closely related discipline.
•Strong computer programming skills, including MATLAB and/or Python.
•Knowledge of statistical analysis for engineers.
•Good problem-solving skills; attention to detail; ability to learn quickly, to work efficiently and independently and as part of a team.
•Effective oral and written communication skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

•Expertise in spacecraft orbit mechanics and spacecraft attitude control.
•Expertise in Kalman Filter and related analyses.
•Experience with image processing and data analysis.
•Experience with landmark matching or star matching algorithms.
•Willingness to stay abreast of advances in INR, image processing, and a range of disciplines related to GLIMR.
