Position Summary |
We are seeking a talented driven postdoctoral fellow to join the personnel of an NIH funded project on surgical training. We are developing a fully immersive, high fidelity virtual reality (VR) trainer that will improve the current standard of Oral and Maxillofacial surgical training by enhancing the learning of difficult surgical skills such as craniofacial osteotomies. During the Phase I of this project, we developed a prototype that will be completed in Phase II. We believe the Osteotomy Trainer has the potential to generate market revenue while improving the training process for OMF surgeons and other related disciplines without adding risks to patients. The fellow will join the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, which is collaborating with Kitware Inc. on this project. The postdoctoral candidate should have a strong background in Biomedical Imaging. Experience with image data processing is required. |
Educational Requirements |
