The Department of Biostatistics at University of Michigan invites applications for a full-time postdoctora researchl fellow in causal inference and vaccine studies. Your focus on this project will be: developing causal inference methods to detect and resolve unmeasured confounding bias, leveraging negative controls in vaccine effectiveness and safety studies, and using electronic health records data from a national vaccine safety data network and an emerging test-negative design platform. You are also encouraged to bring your own novel research ideas.
The project is funded by NIH with investigators from University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University, University of Hong Kong, and Peking University. The position is based in the Department of Biostatistics at University of Michigan, with the opportunity to be a visiting scholar at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Remote work is allowable during COVID-19 restrictions, along with a flexible start date.
Responsibilities*
- Develop statistical methods and theory and apply them to vaccine effectiveness and safety studies
- Write manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals
- Disseminate research findings at professional conferences
- Collaborate with biomedical researchers
Required Qualifications*
- Doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field
- Strong statistical background
- Programming experience
