Job Summary

The Prabhakar lab in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the College of Medicine at UIC is looking for a motivated post-doctoral candidate to contribute to our research program on anaplastic thyroid cancer. Must be able to work independently and have experience in molecular biology, cell culture, and various assays to test anti-cancer drugs. Additionally, experience working with mice including minor surgery needed for orthotopic mouse model of anaplastic thyroid cancer. Position is available immediately and the successful candidate is expected to start as soon as possible. Salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Required: PhD degree (within 5 years) in virology or related field.

• Required: experience in tissue culture, molecular biology, various and in conducting experiments in mice including live surgery.

• Required: Experience in cancer biology research

• Preferred: Demonstrated record of independence, productivity; ability to keep accurate records and organize the data for publication
