Position Summary

An unusual postdoctoral fellowship is being offered by Lampe Distinguished Professor Frances Ligler to work on a collaboration with Dr. Imran Rizvi in the areas of engineered approaches to overcome chemoresistance in cancer and targeted photodynamic therapy. The postdoc is expected to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will join a research effort to engineer drug delivery platforms to photochemically target treatment resistance in cancer. The candidate will also design and build in vitro bioengineered 3D models for ovarian cancer to study the role of physical stress in chemoresistance and to develop mechanism-informed combination regimens.
Primary laboratory and office space will be available in the School of Medicine at The University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, with additional resources available to members of the Joint Department at both UNC-Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University in nearby Raleigh.
