Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at A full-time postdoctoral position is available in a research laboratory in the Department of University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). The successful candidate will participate in studies to define the mechanism by which rheumatoid arthritis (RA) joint inflammation and bone erosion is modulated.
The postdoctoral opportunity will be offered to a highly motivated and collaborative individual that is capable of independent thinking that is excited about learning new technologies and publishing in high impact journals. The candidates should have excellent writing and communication skills and be familiar with techniques such as multi-color flow cytometry, cell isolation, tissue culture, ELISA, RT-PCR and animal handling and breeding. The priority will be given to recently graduated applicants with PhD or MD/PhD applicants that are expect to graduate from an Immunology / rheumatology program. Also we expect applicants to have at least one or two first author immunology related published articles. Being familiar with Genotyping and FACS analysis is a must. Knowing how to analyze big data sets from RNA sequencing is a huge advantage.
Having experience in macrophage, T cell and bone biology and animal injection is a plus.
