The Chen Lab studies the transcriptional regulation of nuclear receptors and fusion oncoproteins by using chemical biology approaches, while members of the High Throughput Bioscience (HTB) Center (directed by Dr. Chen) work together on drug discovery technology development, therapeutic target discovery, assay development, laboratory automation, and high-throughput and high-content screenings.

The postdoctoral fellow will use chemical biology approaches to target transcription factors (fusion oncoproteins and nuclear receptors), with a focus on designing cell-based and biochemical/biophysical assays to discover small molecule modulators of transcription factors, and investigating compound mechanism of action. The Chen Lab/HTB Center emphasizes motivation and dedication to multidisciplinary research, prepares and trains members of its team well for career growth both within the St. Jude organization, and in academia or pharmaceutical industry.

 

The successful candidate will work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment by collaborating with cancer biologists, chemists, structural biologists, and technologists (https://www.stjude.org/chen ).



Highly motivated individuals with a strong publication record are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cell biology and molecular biology, or biochemistry/biophysics, extensive experience in transcriptional regulation, and a strong interest in assay development, high-throughput/high-content screenings, and compound mechanism-of-action studies. Candidates must have (or soon receive) a PhD degree.
