What You Will Do
Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and the U.S. National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) are seeking a highly motivated and technically excellent postdoctoral researcher in experimental condensed matter physics focusing on quantum information.Two possible projects are (1) frustrated magnets and spin liquids in particular Kitaev spin liquids with Majorana fermions and (2) molecular magnetic materials including qubit behavior and magnetoelectric coupling. The successful candidate can choose to participate in one or both as well as other projects that arise in a collaborative and fast-based researched environment. Research general involves measurements of magnetic, electrical, thermodynamic and structural properties in DC and pulsed magnetic fields, taking advantage of the capabilities available at the Pulsed Field Facility (PFF). The position also provides opportunities for industrious candidates to pursue new collaborations, develop complementary techniques, and perform independent research within related topics.

Qualifications We Require:
Education: A Ph.D in experimental condensed matter physics or related field completed within the past 5 years.
Effective written and verbal communication skills as evinced by publications, presentations, cover letter, and references
Experience with cryogenics and/or high magnetic field measurements in magnetic materials.
