The Chang laboratory at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the Institute of Human Nutrition seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to study cell-lipid particle interaction, regulation of lipid metabolism and transport, and lipid-associated immune cell responses and biology. The position is NIH funded. Activities will include hands-on bench experimentation in both cell culture and animal works, data analysis and supervision of students or laboratory trainees on on-going studies, writing peer-reviewed manuscripts, participating in seminars, work groups, collaborating on research grant applications. The candidate will thoroughly document all results, technical reports and interpretations of studies.

 

Minimum Degree Required

PhD and/or MD

 

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in immunology, cell biology, biophysics, biochemistry or related science in a relevant scientific field.

 

Preferred Qualifications

A strong track record of scientific publications in peer reviewed journals.

Experience in a broad array of platforms and technologies for research studies include ELISA, western blot, qPCR, immune cell isolation and analysis, flow cytometry, RNA-seq, immunohistochemistry, and mass spectrometry.

Significant wet lab experience in molecular biology.

Excellent communication and writing skills with extensive knowledge in utilizing the appropriate technology, i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, statistical and other programs to create and communicate research reports, key information and for publications.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
