The Postdoctoral Fellow will present his/her research at both international and local conferences and submit in peer-reviewed journals.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
  • Synthesize EPR/NMR bio-probes by assisting in the design of a retrosynthetic scheme.
  • Characterize new compounds using organic chemistry standards (NMR, EPR, UV, IR, MS, etc.)
  • Evaluate the probe in vitro.
  • Investigate and evaluate current literature.
  • Co-mentor students on techniques and other lab activities, and data analysis.

  • Organic chemistry skills (multi-step air-free reactions, working safely with sensitive, toxic, flammable molecules, etc.)
  • Ability to perform full characterization of organic molecules using appropriate methods such as EPR, NMR, IR, UV, melting point, HPLC, GC or electrochemistry.
  • Good organizational and communication skills (orally and written).
  • Ability to teach and train new lab members.
  • Ability to learn new methods and acquire new skills.
  • Ability to perform basic computer work and chemistry-related software.
  • Able to contribute in writing and submitting new articles, abstracts, research reports and grant proposals.
