Part time applied mathematics faculty positions are available for the Fall 2020 semester.
We seek qualified individuals that would desire to teach any of the following courses for the Fall 2020 semester which starts Sept. 9:
College Mathematics: This is an algebra and trigonometry course that Construction Management and Architecture first year students typically take.
Precalculus: This course is taken after students have passed College Mathematics in most cases. In the fall semester the main cohort taking this are Computer Networking major freshmen.
Discrete Math: This course includes set theory, logic, truth tables, the principle of induction and introduction to graph theory. Computer Science freshmen take this course.
Calculus 1: a first semester calculus course that stresses differentiation and its applications of single variable functions and also integration.
Multivariable Calculus: a third semester calculus course that goes up to Green’s Theorem.
Linear Algebra- note we cover singular value decomposition in this course.
Differential Equations- first and second order differential equations, Laplace Transforms and systems of differential equations.
Please note that multiple sections of the above courses will occur and that the sections are coordinated by full time faculty members at Wentworth which means that there will be a lot of guidance and collaboration about each course.
A Master’s degree (or higher) in mathematics, computer science or a closely related field is required. College teaching is preferred.
This is a part-time position in an collaborative and exciting applied mathematics department.
Please submit a cover letter and CV for our consideration.
