With each case that we treat, we continue to grow our data sets at an exponential rate. This form of data collection and analysis opens the door for truly patient-driven research derived from real-world, clinical data. This collection of shared information offers the greatest hope to truly advance treatment protocols for some of the most complex conditions.

A post-doctoral research associate is sought to work on the purification and immunochemical and biochemical characterization of food allergens. The qualified applicant will manage a project dealing with allergen purification and reactivity and specifically include the seed storage proteins, the major allergenic proteins in plant seed, and their post-translational modification (including phosphorylation and glycosylation).

Experienced in project management, general molecular biological and proteomic techniques, in particular liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, ELISA, immunoblotting, post- translational modification elucidation (kinase assays and glycan analysis), recombinant protein expression and biophysical and biochemical protein characterization.

  • Characterize the proteomes of various allergenic food sources

  • Extract protein via various methods

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to support the patient driven research in several

  • different disease models.

  • Maintain experimental laboratory notebook and help with ordering/cataloging of

  • reagents and supplies.

  • Optimize immune cell isolation, characterization, activation, transduction and

  • expansion.

  • Requirements

  • PhD degree in biological sciences, proteomics, botany or related field.

  • Purification and immunochemical and biochemical characterization of food allergens.

  • Experience with Western blot analysis, column chromatography, mass spectrometry,

  • immunological assays (ELISA), and multicolor flow cytometry analysis.

  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, cell transfection, transduction and stable cell

  • line generation.

  • Experience with molecular biology techniques such as DNA preparation, PCR/qPCR
