Department: Kellogg Family Enterprise Ctr
Dr. Dan P. McAdams and the Kellogg Center for Family Enterprises (Dr. Jennifer Pendergast and Kate Coughlin, lead sponsors) are seeking to hire a full-time Post-Doctoral Research Fellow for a new study. This unique opportunity will use Dr. McAdams’ life narrative methodological tool to explore the factors that tie generativity with the ability to let go appropriately in a family enterprise. Family enterprise leaders’ ability to effectively let go of their roles and identities in a family enterprise system has important implications for successful succession, a key issue in the family enterprise field. The post-doctoral fellow will work on this funded study, with consultative support from Dr. McAdams, and administrative and recruitment of subject support from the Center for Family Enterprises. Candidates who have statistical analysis abilities and applied research experience, along with an interest in family enterprises are especially encouraged to apply. The postdoc will have the unique opportunity to design and execute the research while gaining knowledge of Dr. McAdams’ generativity work and the family enterprise field. The post-doc will take the lead on writing up papers using new and existing data, and will be encouraged to pursue research and collaborations within Northwestern University, the Kellogg School of Management and across Dr. McAdams’ network of collaborators.
Applicants should submit a cover letter detailing your research experience and fit, CV, 3 representative publications, and email addresses of three references within the on-line application. Review of applications will begin immediately (expected start date: Winter/Spring 2020).
