Netflix is revolutionizing the way entertainment is consumed by people all over the world. While we are making great strides in becoming the biggest and most data-driven studio the world has ever seen, we are also continuously innovating our ways to make better data-informed decisions in our most important asset - our people. Our people analytics team, partnering directly with Talent Acquisition and HR leadership, mine insights from our talent data and develop rigorous solutions to better attract, develop, motivate, and retain Netflix employees.

You are a seasoned social scientist, who is curious and passionate about people research, great at uncovering insights and developing testable hypotheses from data. As a senior research scientist within people analytics team, you will be a close thought partners to HR leadership and functional leaders and help them translate complex findings and results into business initiatives. In this role, you will have a huge impact on making Netflix a better workplace for all talents and tremendous amount of exposure to senior business leadership.


  • Mine actionable insights from talent data and develop testable hypotheses

  • Design and implement research studies, analyze data, and report on the results of research initiatives to inform, influence and support HR leaders as well as company wide initiatives such as D&I.

  • Communicate statistical analyses and results, along with implications, to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Build effective relationships with cross functional teams and leadership to influence leaders to take action on the results.

  • Develop framework and metrics that would facilitate rigorous evaluation of organization and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Extensive experience writing SQL and working with raw and, at times, sparse data for analysis.

  • Strong programming skills in Python or R.

  • Master's degree or PhD in Organizational Behavior, I/O Psychology, Personality/Social Psychology, Sociology, Behavioral/Labor Economics or related quantitative fields

  • Experience with ANOVAs, regressions, factor analysis, network analysis, LASSO, HLM and/or SEM.

  • Experience designing/developing, implementing, and analyzing data from surveys/experimental research.

  • Experience conducting quantitative research using industry data.

  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and presentation skills is a must.

  • Passionate about data and insights as it pertains to HR, extremely curious, with great attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data

  • Experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, decision science, personality/individual differences, hiring assessment validation, job analysis, and/or longitudinal analysis research.

  • 3+ years of experience conducting quantitative people research in an organization or consulting environment, including working with stakeholders to understand and clarify their people research needs, and communicating analyses to technical and non-technical audiences
