A NIH T32 postdoctoral position of a co-laboratory project in the laboratories of Drs. Yan Sanders and Victor Thannickal at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

This position is to study the epigenetics mechanisms related to metabolic changes in lung injury and repair, and find possible targeted therapeutic methods for pulmonary fibrosis.  We will use established in vivo and in vitro models to explore how dysregulated metabolism alters histone modification and further affects gene expression and cell phenotypes; find novel epigenetic targets for pulmonary fibrosis.

We are looking for motivated candidates with experience in cell culture, molecular biology and hands-on mouse work. Prior experience in epigenetics is not essential. The successful candidate will have opportunity to participate and establish multidisciplinary collaborations and develop lasted genetic technology.
