California Baptist University, an evangelical Christian university affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention, invites applications for an Associate Dean for the Robert K. Jabs School of Business to begin in July 2019. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching through the integration of the Christian faith and learning.
Successful candidates will translate prior managerial experience into participating in strategic planning with the Dean to grow undergraduate enrollment through new and current program development. This requires coordinating with other CBU colleges and schools to pursue new opportunities, both domestically and internationally.
Administrative duties include overseeing undergraduate course schedules, advising undergraduates, championing accreditation maintenance, and recruiting and developing a pool of qualified adjuncts while engaging with the local business community. In addition, a track record of teaching excellence combined with strong potential as scholar is required.
Candidates should hold a terminal degree in a business discipline (PhD preferred). Specializations in accounting, business analytics, or human resources are prioritized. Prior business/organizational leadership experience is required.
Successful candidates may teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching load will be 12 units the first year and 15 units thereafter.
