A postdoctoral position is available in the department of Ophthalmology. Responsibilities will entail the preparation and expansion of inducible pluripotent stem cell cultures and for isolation and characterization of mesenchymal stem cells. Design molecular, cell culture experiments, oversee their execution, and interpret the results. Examine mechanisms of stem cell differentiation. Develop assays that monitor cell characteristics and develop biological research methods. Perform laboratory procedures following protocols including deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) sequencing, cloning and extraction, ribonucleic acid (RNA) purification, or gel electrophoresis and analyze biological samples as needed. Maintain accurate lab records and data. Instruct undergraduate and graduate students within the areas of cellular or molecular biology. Prepare reports, manuscripts, and meeting presentations and prepare scientific or technical reports or presentations for companies as needed.

PhD in Cellular and Structural Biology required.
