Position Description – Jefferson College of Pharmacy (Lab of Dr. Jitendra Belani)

A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Jitendra Belani’s laboratory, located in the College of Pharmacy at Thomas Jefferson University. The group is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in developing novel synthetic methods and applying them to drug discovery. Our laboratory has access to state-of-the art resources for synthetic chemistry. Qualifications Successful candidates should have the following qualifications. * Ph.D. in organic chemistry with a track record of productivity and independence * Creative thinking skills and ability to self-direct new research paths based on results, command of scientific literature. * Ability to work collaboratively with excellent oral and written communication skills. * Ability to mentor students * Experience in the following areas is required: catalysis, reaction discovery and optimization, and small molecule synthesis. A working knowledge of chemical and computational biology is desired. The position is available immediately.
