The University of Cincinnati, College of Engineering and Applied Science invites applications for two immediate postdoctoral fellow positions in Prof. Jing Shi's group.

Responsibilities: The postdoctoral fellow is expected to work under the supervision of Prof. Jing Shi on the following tasks: developing efficient multi-scale additive manufacturing simulation methods; predicting microstructure, mechanical properties, and other quality indicators; designing and conducting experimental verifications; writing technical reports; publishing scholarly works on peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings; and assisting research proposal development.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in an appropriate field such as mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering; expertise in numerical simulation of manufacturing processes and computational material science; experience of using FEA software packages such as ANSYS and ABAQUS; strong experiment skills in mechanical testing and materials characterization; experience of working with additively manufactured materials; excellent writing and communication skills.

Term of appointment: This will be an initial one-year appointment with an option to renew for a second year contingent upon available funding and first year performance. The salary is competitive and includes benefits.
