Veeco currently has a 1 year Postdoctoral Research Scientist fellowship opportunity in Somerset, NJ.  We are seeking a highly motivated candidate who will primarily be responsible for advanced application development in process technology related to Veeco MOCVD products. In addition, this role includes process development activities and requires operation and maintenance of one or more MOCVD systems.  This position reports to Senior Manager of Process Technology.
Develop advanced & state of art process technology for photonic, energy, electronic applications.
Develop compound semiconductor materials for various applications on MOCVD tools including RF and Power electronics, or GaN based LED.
Participate in the design, development, and characterization of new MOCVD component, sub-system, and entire system designs.
Develop and document process and maintenance. procedures/schedules for new MOCVD processes and tools.
Conduct application-specific process development with customers on leading-edge production recipes.
Work cross functionally with marketing and engineering as a member of project team to achieve project results on time.
Work in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating team-based environment.
Train customers on MOCVD tools in house or on site. Provides technical direction and manages customer process demonstrations. 
Enhance external visibility through conference presentations and journal publications and contribute to intellectual property development.
Participate in joint development activities with outside of company collaborators and customers.
PhD in Science or Engineering discipline with demonstrated experience with epitaxial growth, including III/V MOCVD epitaxial growth of compound semiconductor materials.
Candidate may also have a demonstrated track record in other deposition tools such as ALD, CVD, PVD, etc. process and equipment development and reactor technology.
0 ~ 3year work experience (industrial production environment experience preferred).
Extensive hands-on equipment experience within the semiconductor industry.
Strong attention to detail while managing multiple projects in a dynamic development environment.
Ability to effectively communicate across all levels and assess project risks, timelines, and accomplishments to upper management.
Needs to be experienced in DOE and experimental data process tools and techniques (JMP, Minitab, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
MOCVD material growth experience in large scale commercial reactors. 
Experience in Power electronics and RF GaN process technology or Experience in CMOS, Si-Ge process technology.
Experience in micro LED, LD, nanostructure and CPV process technology.
Experience in device fabrication and testing is desirable.
Prior fab experience including process transfer, high volume manufacturing methodology, and process equipment selection.
Strong customer service skills and willingness to support field service efforts.
Ability to travel internationally and domestically (<25% time).
